Car parts Omaha

Car parts Omaha is named after one our players who sells car parts, not the most original name, but a simple name for a simple game.

In its base, one might say plain vanilla form, you could call it a stepping stone game between Texas/Omaha and the Dr whooo and Utah's of this world.

 BASIC RULES.

All players dealt 5 cards face down. Usual flop (3 cards), turn (1 card), River (1 card). Players MUST play 2 from their hand and 3 from the table.

Simples as a meerkat might say, or in West End shorthand play 2 from 5 no wilds.

Now this game has frequently been taken through the shed, not only mine but others who are less confident about owning up about their shed time.

Obviously car parts can fit in the TARDIS resulting in DR Whooo gets Car Parts from Omaha, or shortened to Dr Car Part Omaha.

Confused, well specially for Mr C here is the rules again.

Play 2 from 5, any (only) one heart is wild either in your hand or on the board.

Equally it is possible for Car Parts to be turned into a profligate game. Let me explain, same rules as above EXCEPT after the flop one card from each player is discarded , thrown away or dumped. This leaves every player with 4 cards (instead of 5) and the game plays on just like Omaha. Now colloquial we would say car parts has a dump in Omaha, or something similar but less polite.

Now the adroit amongst you may be one step ahead of us and worked out car parts could be sold in Utah as well as Omaha! They may even be sold by a physician, giving you Dr Carr goes to Utah. I would recommend turn 3 of the 5 cards to halve your bet if play is transferred to Utah.

This maybe going a bit fast for you (you've seen nothing yet, just wait till we get onto Big Nige's (or little Nige’s for that matter) games, that will really fry your brains).

The secret with any good playable game is only change one rule from an existing game. Of course when I say existing, I'm taking about the ethereal world of West End dealers choice poker games. However, to avoid "bust ups" I would strongly suggest only going up a level of complexity when several of the players have become fluent in the base game you are "enhancing".
